Growing as a child, I would always/frequently/often spend/waste/devote evenings listening to my abuela/grandmother/grandma tell her/its/these folktales. Every/Each and every/One by one story was a journey/adventure to another world, filled with magic/fantastical creatures/supernatural beings, noble figures, and sometimes even a hint of danger/peril.
